5 Things I love About HBO’s The Gilded Age (And one thing I’m on the fence about…)
I binge-watched HBO’s The Gilded Age (created by Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame) over the past couple weeks, and I have thoughts: I LOVED IT!
Writing is hard.
Boo-hoo, I know. But it is. Heading into the third draft, I expected things to go a little faster, but sometimes it’s really hard to concentrate. =\
Now that it’s spring, the weather is nicer and there are more things battling for my attention. Some days I say, “I really wanted to edit a chapter today, but I’ll do two tomorrow.” Then a whole week passes and I didn’t edit at all. With summer looming, I know I really need to get on the ball.
When I’m not writing (and should be), I’ve been binge-watching a lot of TV shows. After War and Peace I watched Poldark, which was SO good! After that I watched Wolf Hall, which I loved so much I kind of want to sleep with it under my pillow. Now I’m watching The Last Kingdom. It takes place during the Anglo-Saxon “seven kingdoms” period of English history, a thoroughly under represented era, IMO. I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m only one episode in.
Hopefully I’ll have more exciting news for my next update. Here’s what I have planned for the coming months as I head toward my book launch:
So, stay tuned!
Love hearing what you’re up to. There’s nothing wrong with binge watching English dramas. I do it all the time. They are inspiring themselves!
